Born of the Thracian Valley. Raised by the sun. Crafted for the world
Let’s take a closer look at what makes these wines so special.
A Name Rooted in Legend
The name “Rhesus” is inspired by the legendary Thracian king known for his bravery and wisdom. As mentioned in Homer’s Iliad, King Rhesus fought alongside the Trojans and owned majestic white horses, which became a symbol of his strength and nobility. This heroic spirit lives on in RHESUS Wines, embodying qualities of boldness and elegance in every bottle.
Winemaking Excellence in the Thracian Valley, where the tradition meets Innovation
Rhesus Winery is nestled in Bulgaria’s Thracian Valley, a region with ideal conditions for cultivating premium grapes. The winery seamlessly blends ancient winemaking traditions with modern innovations.
From precision watering systems to advanced weather forecasting, every effort is made to ensure the health of the vines and the superior quality of the grapes. The seeds removing techniques, before fermentation of the grapes, are used to remove the most of the amount of the tannin from the wine. This makes our wine pleasure to drink even from the consumers who may have heartburns or stomach problems.
From the careful selection of grapes, grown in our own vineyards, to the precision of fermentation and aging, Rhesus wines reflect a commitment to excellence. Oak barrel aging imparts depth and character, while bottle aging ensures the wines reach peak perfection.
A Taste of Bulgaria’s Heritage
RHESUS Wines celebrate Bulgaria’s rich winemaking tradition and unique terroir. Whether you’re drawn to the boldness of Mavrud, the smooth charm of Merlot, or the complexity of the Select blend, each bottle offers a journey through flavors and history.
